Diversity!

Don’t tell me what I ought to like in music, films or books.
Because I don’t like what you like don’t give those scathing looks!

Don’t feel that you’re above all others in your elitist bubble.
Because that way of thinking only ends in strife and trouble!

Don’t think your way of thinking is always right and strong.
Just because my taste’s not yours doesn’t mean that it is wrong!

Don’t say that only things you like are what we all should follow.
When someone disagrees with you, you find that hard to swallow!

Don’t you dare make fun of others for what they may enjoy.
It’s called free choice, you should take note and don’t you quash their joy!

Don’t bleat on about “mainstream” choices from the “mainstream” throng.
Your “out there” taste is great (for you) but again don’t say they’re wrong!

Don’t say I should love Dylan, as I just can’t stand his voice.
But, I still respect the fact you like him – that’s what is called free choice!

Don’t forget the world’s diverse in race and creed and taste.
Because of this free choice we have and others’ views we should embrace!

Another lovely day!

My heart sings when the weather's so fine.

Hope it's fair in your neck of the woods.
It makes the garden look quite sublime.
Which makes me feel so good!

My soul soars when the sun shines through.
Hope it shines everywhere it should.
It makes you feel anything you can do.
Which makes me feel so good.

My mind wanders when the rain keeps away.
Hope yours wandered whenever it could.
It makes you travel wherever you may.
Which makes me feel so good.

My eyes shine when a rainbow appears.
Hope one happens wherever you’ve stood.
It makes the world appear shiny and new.
Which makes me feel so good.

My spine tingles when thunderstorms strike.
Hope they shake you and stir up your blood.
It makes your whole body jump up into life.
Which makes me feel so good.

My heart bursts when a baby is born.
Hope when yours are born your heart would.
It gives you a whole brand new outlook on life.
Which makes me feel so good.

Chickenpox!

One spot, two spots, three spots, four,

Five spots, six spots, seven spots, more.

Spots are appearing all over the place,

Spots on your neck and spots on your face!

Spots on your arms and spots on your tum,

Spots on your legs and spots on your bum!

Spots in your ears and spots in your hair,

Those damned itchy spots are everywhere!

Break out the calamine to ease all the itches,

It’s cold and it tickles, it has you in stitches.

It dries till it’s white and it has a strange pong,

The relief that it gives makes you break into song!

You dab it on here, you dab it on there,

Don’t scratch at those spots or a scar will appear!

Just be quite patient and keep your will strong,

Think to yourself that scratching is wrong.

It won’t last forever so just grit your teeth,

The spots will be gone and you’ll then feel relief!

Easter weekend

It looks like being a glorious weekend here in Wallasey for Easter! The only downside is I have to work both days (boo).
Not to worry, I'll still have time to spend with my family, and get a sneaky barbecue in on Easter Monday to make up for it.
Got some eggs in for the usual egg hunt in the garden, so I'll have to think of some obscure places to put them! Of course the adults will be helping the children so I'll have to simplify it for the parents! ;)
Have a fabulous weekend people, and don't eat too much chocolate!

Despair!

Spiralling downwards slowly into the deep dark abyss.

Twirling and swirling and getting increasingly dizzy.

There are no hand-holds or foot-holds to grasp on to during the fall.

The cold clammy fingers of despair entwine themselves around your body.

Blackness and hopelessness seep into your bloodstream and bones.

No light permeates the dismal world you have now entered.

There is nothing to see or to look forward to.

Nothing is easy here, and the effort of the least thing is immense.

It’s almost too overpowering to cope with!

Walking through molasses is how it seems.

Hearing is muffled, and what you do hear is confusing.

There are no positives from your perspective, only negatives.

You start to hate yourself in every way …. But it’s too much effort!

You start to hate the world …. but you can’t be bothered!

The world moves on around you, getting on with life.

Why can’t the darkness loosen its grip on your limbs?

Why can’t it let a little light into your atrophied mind?

Maybe it’s a safety mechanism sent by the fates to protect you!

You can only take each hour and each day as it comes.

Then hopefully, one day, there will be colour and light back in your world.

But then again …………..

Beautiful days!

Wow the days were lovely over the weekend and I got some gardening tasks done! April is living up to its name here, but it's also keeping some of the March winds with it.
Work does interfere with the gardening, but it does fund the plants I suppose. Well I'm off on Friday, so hopefully the rain will hold off while I get more done. Maybe the cats will help! :)
There's the promise of rain later, so I will make the most of the little bit of sun we have at the moment.
Spring has sprung!!!!!!!

Sleep little princeling

Go to sleep little princeling, close your eyes and drift away.

Float away across the calm seas to an island of adventure.

Sail amongst the gentle waves and navigate around the jutting rocks.

Come to rest by the most beautiful island in the ocean.

Pirates and friendly animals will play in your dreams with you.

Hide and seek in the beach-side caves and blue lagoon.

Laughing and shouting as you all play tag amongst the trees.

Going for a picnic in the glade of long extinct dinosaurs.

Eat and drink your fill, as you’re in a magic land.

Everything is plentiful and good for you.

Lie down and rest on the soft sandy beach – refresh yourself.

Walk down to the waters’ edge and paddle in its coolness.

Then, when you are ready, sail back to the ocean.

Navigate back around the jutting rocks.

Leave the island on which you’ve played.

Float back through the gentle waves.

Open your eyes little princeling, it’s time to awake.

A glorious day!

It really is a glorious spring day here in Wallasey! The sun is shining down, the birds are singing, and it makes me glad to be alive!
The garden is calling, as there's lots to do following the winter we've had. Who knows, I may even be able to persuade his lordship to join in!!
There's not much I like better than pottering round the garden and sprucing it up ready for the grandchildren to come and play.
Just have to have my compulsory two cups of tea before I get started!
Have a fabulous weekend, and I hope the sun is shining down on all of you to lift your mood and to bring you happiness.

Early morning!

I have to say I love getting up early to catch the full day ....... but it's a bit different when you're woken up and can't get back to sleep!
Dontcha just love people who make noises in their sleep? Not snoring you understand, just noises! And, no matter how many times you dig em in the ribs or push em with your foot they carry on regardless!
That's life I suppose, and I'll just have to go to bed earlier tonight to make up for it, ...... before I fall asleep on the couch! :)
I could always compose something to commemorate it too, so it could be a blessing.

Sleep little princess

Go to sleep little princess, close your eyes and drift away.

Float above the clouds to that land of sweet contentment.

Fly amongst the stars and loop the loop around the moon.

Come to rest on the sweetest planet in the galaxy.

Sprites and fairies will play in your dream with you.

Hide and seek in the hollow trees and flower gardens.

Pushing you gently on the shell swings and the candyfloss roundabout.

Go for a picnic in the glade of mischievous pixies.

Eat and drink your fill, as you are in a magic land.

Everything is plentiful and good for you.

Lie down and rest on the soft grass in the meadow – refresh yourself.

Walk down to the water’s edge, dipping your toes in.

Then, when you are ready, fly back up to the stars.

Loop the loop back around the moon.

Leaving the land in which you’ve played.

Float down through the clouds.

Open your eyes little princess, it’s time to awake!

Happy April!!

A very happy April to one and all. I hope the showers don't take over the month, but just enhance all your gardens.
It's started as a wet month here, but hopefully the sun will appear again soon, as it's time to do some more work on our modest but tranquil garden.
Barbecue time will be on us soon, and family gatherings will recommence at the weekends.
Have fun people :)
