Today was supposed to be very wet and windy! Well it's certainly been windy in down-town Wallasey but the rain held off. So much so that my partner managed to get the grass cut for the first time this season! YAY!!
Hope your day has been just as surprisingly nice, and come on the weekend ..... with any luck Everton will win and the mood will be good here...... and if Bolton can win too that'll be even better!
Have a good Friday folks :)

Ode to friendship
Oh you are a gobby cow; you just can’t keep it shut!
When you’ve been told a secret your brain just goes kaput!
You spread the secret far and wide; you tell it north and south.
The flaming Mersey tunnel’s only half the size of your mouth!
As you’re being told the secret the cogs are turning round.
You’re working out just who to tell and where they can be found!
I see that you are itching in your bid to get away.
I think you hold a record for the most secrets told in one day!
You really cannot help yourself it just comes out in spurts.
I don’t think you’re aware at all of the people that it hurts!
It comes as no surprise to me that you are unaware.
It’s just that you’re pig ignorant and not that you don’t care!
I’ve learned to stop and think about what I can say, or not.
Because, in the end you are my friend, and I love you a lot!

Decaying plaster rabbit
Blank eye staring unseeingly across the room.
What does he think of what goes on around him?
Conjoined ears, sealed and unable to hear.
Does he agonise about what is said in his presence?
No legs at all, unable to run and frolic around.
Is he frustrated at not being able to move?
Little or no tail to twitch and wiggle at others.
Can he feel the pain of not being able to communicate his fear?
Fur is non – existent his flesh is bare and cracked.
Will he be warm enough in the depth of winter?
Teeth are not visible to the casual observer.
How can he eat the tender and tasty morsels he desires?
Burrows are not to be found in the stark environment in which he resides.
When will he be able to rest, comfortable warm and safe?
Decaying plaster rabbit on the cracked and crumbling wall of the bathroom.
Who else can see your strange and wonderful form but me I wonder?
The brightest firework
Look up into the cold November sky.
As hard and cold as granite, yet safe and warm as velvet.
The deepest, darkest, bluish black, studded with tiny diamonds.
Suddenly, the darkness becomes light.
An explosion of tiny sparkles fills the night sky.
Twirling and swirling like a gigantic Catherine wheel.
Whooshing upwards and outwards like the biggest rocket you could find.
Screaming loudly as it makes its way to greet the jealous stars.
Brightly coloured, vibrant bursts of energy emanate like a roman candle…
Seemingly never ending, but never too much, and finishing much too soon.
Alongside the noise and colour come soft whispers, like the crackle of sparklers.
A safe warm glow enhanced by the blazing bonfires.
Comforting trails of light amidst the clouds of breath and gunpowder smoke.
The whole sky is filled with colour and light.
Just like the most beautiful Indian festivals and celebrations.
You catch your breath in wonder and amazement.
The sheer spectacle and immensity of the effect it has.
Then, as suddenly as it came, it fades from sight.
But, you will always hold in your heart and dreams the joy it gave.
Only there for a short time, but having an impact on each one it touched.
Look up into the deepest, darkest, bluish black, studded with tiny diamonds,
And remember ………
You have been witness to the brightest firework in the cold November sky.
